DENTAL INSURANCE IN JAPAN
If you hold a Japanese National Health Insurance (NHI) card, in most cases, the system covers 70% of your hospital fees, and you are only required to pay 30%. However, the system has several regulations on dental treatments that can be covered by their policies. For example, in terms of materials used for tooth restoration, only metal or resin composite are covered by the NHI. The length of time per visit is also regulated at 20-30 minutes per visit, which requires you to return multiple times to complete procedures that otherwise be completed in one appointment. Treatments using more advanced technology such as orthodontics, implant, and ceramic restorations are currently not covered by the NHI.
At Tsuchiya Dental Clinic, we put your long-term health first and will recommend the most effective and convenient treatment plan, which may not be covered by the Japanese National Health Insurance.
